The ANZ-LCNF team enjoyed a productive and successful presence at CNSA Congress this year. We thank all our cancer nurse colleagues who visited the shared ANZ-LCNF/Lung Foundation Australia booth and made introductions with us and shared your lung cancer nursing experiences. It was lovely to meet so many nurses, spread far and wide across the country, who are caring for people living with a thoracic malignancy. We look forward to seeing you at future ANZ-LCNF events.
We also thank all those who attended the ANZ-LCNF Symposium on Lung Cancer: A Hopeful Time, which was held on Friday 17th in the concurrent session programme. Our program aimed to provide a good overview of the latest advances in treatment for lung cancer, presented by the ever energetic and wonderful supporter of ANZ-LCNF, Dr Malinda Itchins, Medical Oncologist, Royal North Shore Hospital. This was followed by a meaningful and impactful presentation by Mr Michel Itel, a young man living with lung cancer. His presentation embodied the hope we see in the new treatments being developed in this era of unprecedented scientific advancement. Mr Mark Brooke, CEO Lung Foundation Australia, completed the Symposium with a presentation on the status of a national lung screening program in Australia. The Symposium was standing room only!
